About Us
The Building Skills Partnership (BSP) represents a unique non-profit collaboration between the janitors’ union Service Employees International Union – United Service Workers West (SEIU- USWW), commercial building owners, janitorial employers, client companies and community leaders. SEIU-USWW represents over 40,000 low wage property service workers, most of which are immigrants working as janitors, maintenance workers and airport service workers. The BSP represents a unique non-profit in collaboration with SEIU- USWW, over 45 janitorial employers, over 35 building owners, Building Owners Management Association of Greater Los Angeles (BOMA-GLA), and community organizations. Our mission is to improve the quality of life for low-wage property service workers and their families by increasing their skills, access to education, and opportunities for career and community advancement.
Property service workers provide important services in buildings and key facilities throughout Los Angeles in industries such as aerospace, airports, commercial real estate, and entertainment.Building Skills Partnership (BSP) is a high quality vocational education and training program that is capable of increasing the workforce capacity and economic performance of property service workers in California. Building Skills Partnership program areas and its curriculum play a key role in driving the productivity and competitiveness of the indindustry and contributing to the economic and social development of our communities.
