Open House in San Jose
On Wednesday, May 28th, Building Skills Partnership (BSP) proudly hosted its first-ever Open House at our San Jose office, marking an important milestone in deepening local engagement and expanding access to opportunity for working families.
The event provided a welcoming space for janitors, service workers, and their families to explore BSP’s core programs in Community Advancement and Workforce Development. From digital literacy and union hall training to financial capability workshops and health and wellness resources, attendees were able to see firsthand how BSP supports their professional and personal growth.
Key partners—including SEIU-USWW, MCTF, and local nonprofits such as Community Health Partnership and Second Harvest of Silicon Valley—joined us to connect participants with essential services and information. Kaiser Permanente also played a vital role, offering free on-site health screenings for glucose, cholesterol, blood pressure, and BMI, helping ensure that our communities have access to preventive care.
This initiative was made possible thanks to the generous support of Applied Materials, whose continued investment in equitable access and education enables BSP to serve low-wage workers across Silicon Valley. Their partnership reflects a shared commitment to building stronger, healthier, and more resilient communities.
As the San Jose Open House came to a close, one thing was clear: creating space for learning, connection, and care is at the heart of what we do. We look forward to building on this momentum—and to welcoming even more families into the BSP community in the months ahead.
