Empowering our members through coastal education!
Thanks to the Whale Tail Grant ( California Coastal Commission )and the guidance of our San Diego Community Advocacy Coordinator, who helped organize and lead these activities, our frontline workers many janitors and essential staff participated in over 12 coastal and environmental hikes this year, including the Binational California King Tides Event at Kendall-Frost Marsh. Many experienced their first coastal hike, tried birdwatching for the first time, and learned about climate change, coastal ecosystems, and marine life protection.
Offering these experiences in Spanish ensured everyone could fully participate and engage, while also supporting their mental well-being and connection to nature.
A big thank you to the California Coastal Commission and our partners for making these meaningful and inclusive experiences possible!
