Upskilling Career Skills: Canva Workshop in San Diego
12 Students learning the basics of Canva and its webplatform
In San Diego, Building Skills Partnership had the joy of hosting a Canva Workshop with 12 incredible students — and the energy in the room was electric!
Over the course of two hours, participants learned the fundamentals of digital design, explored Canva’s wide range of templates, and put their creativity to the test. By the end of the session, students were already downloading and sharing their projects with family and friends — a proud moment that showed just how quickly they picked up new skills.
What stood out most was the enthusiasm in the room. Students weren’t just engaged — they were eager for more. Several asked when the next workshop would be, proving how empowering it feels to gain hands-on training in digital tools that can directly benefit their lives and futures.
This workshop is more than just a crash course in Canva. It’s part of BSP’s Workforce Development Program, which equips workers and students with the practical skills needed to thrive in today’s economy. Learning to use accessible tools like Canva isn’t just fun — it builds confidence, creativity, and capabilities that are highly valuable for resumes, freelance opportunities, small business branding, and even career paths in marketing and design.
At BSP, we believe that unlocking digital literacy and creative skills helps open doors to economic mobility and professional growth. Yesterday’s workshop was proof of that — and just the beginning for these motivated learners.
