🌟 Welcome Our New Board Member: Julie Taylor

β€œJulie Taylor is a highly experienced executive and a seasoned leader in association management with over thirty years of experience. As the Executive Director of BOMA Oakland/East Bay since 2016, she has driven significant growth, increasing corporate sponsorship by 20%, luncheon participation by 40%, and volunteerism by 20%. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she successfully adapted the organization's programs, leading to a rebound in membership to pre-pandemic levels and a rise in event attendance.

Prior to BOMA, Julie spent sixteen years with the California Water Environment Association (CWEA), where she led the education and training team. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated a remarkable ability to plan and negotiate for events, organizing over 12,000 training sessions for more than 375,000 attendees. Her efforts have consistently exceeded goals, increasing overall training profitability by 25%, with some events seeing profits as high as 60%.

Ms. Taylor's extensive background also includes more than twenty years of marketing experience, including roles at a San Francisco ad agency and the American Management Association (AMA). She is skilled in both qualitative and quantitative research, having conducted market research for companies like Wham-O and the SF Chronicle. At AMA, she managed a Corporate Learning Delivery Team of seven, negotiated with 1,200 faculty members, and was instrumental in developing a strategic and operational plan that saw the sales staff double in one year.

A dedicated volunteer, Julie has served on the CalSAE Board of Directors and is a Certified Association Executive (CAE) through the American Society of Association Executives. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Telecommunications and Film from San Diego State University.”
